<h2>Gardening Basics &#8211; Demonstrative Workshop</h2>

<p>Victory Gardens is hosting its first demonstrative work-shop of the season where you will learn the basics of home growing including information on soil, transplanting, seed sowing and composting; if you are new to growing or just need a refresher, this is a great work-shop for you! We will spend some time inside, and then move outside to get our hands dirty! Don&#8217;t worry, it is not too late to start for the season, it has only started to warm up and now is the perfect time to learn the ropes. Each participant will leave with a package of certified organic seeds and the knowledge to get growing.</p>

<h2>Roving Plant and Seed Sale</h2>

<p>Victory Gardens is holding its second Roving Plant and Seed Sale of the year at 565 East Georgia in Strathcona. We will have a wide variety of veggie starts including: tons of greens (mustards, spinach, kale, arugula, etc), broccoli, cauliflower, beans, heirloom zucchini, various winter squash, cucumber, various peppers and tomatoes and a number of herbs. The seed component will satisfy all of your growing needs include a large variety from both <a href="http://www.westcoastseeds.com/" target="_blank">Westcoast</a> and<a href="http://stellarseeds.com/" target="_blank">Stellar Seeds.</a> The weather has just started to warm up, so you are right on time to sow some seeds and transplant some starts!</p>

The event will feature the launch of the Victory Gardens and Collage Collage Garden Kit and will offer the chance to plant, decorate and get your hands dirty!</p>
<p>Come down on Sunday, May 20th between 2:00 and 4:00 to get gardening!</p>

<h2>Container Gardening Workshop</h2>

<p>Old Faithful and Victory Gardens is pleased to announce the first of their Summer 2012 collaborative work-shop series. This work-shop will cover the basics of container gardening with an emphasis on greens and herbs. You will walk away with: a handmade 1 x 2 x 1 ft wooden container planted with various greens and herbs and a pack of certified organic Westcoast Seeds. The workshop will take place on Saturday, May 12th from 9:30 &#8211; 11 AM. The cost is $45 and space is limited.</p>
